New at Camping Merendella: Let’s protect the bees with Laurent Meziani !

This summer, our campsite is committed to nature !

We are delighted to be working with a passionate beekeeper, Laurent Meziani.

Together, we are installing beehives at the campsite to provide a safe haven for these insects that are so vital to our planet.

Why are bees so important ?

It’s simple: as they fly from flower to flower, bees transport pollen. It is thanks to this work that plants, flowers, and fruits can grow.
Without them, nature could not survive. Protecting them means protecting our future !

Come and see the hives installed right in the heart of the campsite. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a closer look at how they are built and understand the bees' daily lives—all in complete safety.

Every week in July and August: Our "Nature Meet-up"

Want to discover the secrets of bees? Once a week during July and August, Laurent Meziani invites you to a friendly and fascinating gathering right here at the campsite.

Activity highlights :

- Discovering the hive : Laurent explains in detail how bees live. From the queen to the worker bees, you’ll learn all about their incredible organization.
- Honey tasting : Time for a delicious treat! You’ll get to taste authentic, artisanal honey, harvested with love.
- Your souvenir gift : At the end of the activity, every participant will take home their own small jar of the campsite’s honey (subject to availability) !

Everyone's safety: our priority

To ensure everything runs smoothly, our hives are located in a secure, fully fenced-off area.

Rest assured: the bees are not aggressive. Unlike wasps, bees never attack without a reason; they only strike if they feel their lives or their hive are under threat.

Also, keep in mind that a bee dies immediately after stinging, so they avoid doing so whenever possible !

For their well-being and yours, simply follow a few basic rules: do not try to cross the fence, avoid sudden movements nearby, and do not disturb them while they are working.

By staying calm, you can observe them in complete safety and with mutual respect!

In addition to his delicious honey, Laurent uses the treasures from his hives to craft 100% organic beauty products. From skin creams to gentle soaps, he creates everything himself using artisanal methods.
