At Camping Merendella's children's club, your children will become the little protectors of the planet !
The first question that arises when organising your holidays is managing time. Opting for a campsite with a children's club is the ideal answer to satisfy everyone. The major advantage of a campsite for children is the ability to entrust, with complete confidence, the entertainment of your little ones to professionals.
This way, while parents enjoy precious moments of relaxation on the terrace of their mobile home or at the beach, the children are not bored for a single second. A quality campsite understands that camping holidays must be synonymous with freedom.
By entrusting your children to a children's club, you allow them to socialise, make friends their own age from different backgrounds, and live adventures on their own scale. This is the very essence of a successful family holiday: sharing intense moments all together, while also allowing individual moments of freedom. Discover our partner campsites to find the one that perfectly meets this need for balance.
At the heart of the campsite children's club, the programme is designed to stimulate the imagination. Fun activities are tailored by age group so that both the youngest ones and pre-teens find something they enjoy.
Inevitably, craft activities feature: painting, jewellery making, pottery, or making costumes for the end-of-week show. It is an eminently creative space where artistic expression is encouraged by every activity leader. Beyond the classic creative workshops, the trend puts the emphasis on nature discovery.
The energy is guaranteed! The sporting aspect is an essential component of every campsite with a club. The animation teams organise daily sports games to channel the boundless energy of young holidaymakers.
This takes the form of sports tournaments in football, volleyball, basketball or table tennis, held on the site's multi-sport courts. Team spirit and fair play are the central values conveyed by supervisors during these team games.
But the sporting offer doesn't stop there. Depending on the location of the site, more original sporting activities are offered. It is not uncommon to see partnerships for horse riding with a nearby pony club, or introductory sessions in pedal karting within the secured paths of the campsite.
These varied activities allow youngsters to try new disciplines. For children, it is the opportunity to expend energy physically through stimulating outdoor games, supervised by caring professionals.
Today it is almost impossible to separate a large campsite from its swimming area. The vast majority of upmarket establishments offer a spectacular water park. This aquatic space is often the direct extension of the children's club, which organises aquatic olympiads or water polo sessions there. The swimming pool then becomes the stage for guaranteed laughter and joyful splashing under the summer sun.
These spaces are designed for everyone. For the youngest, heated paddling pools with small shower mushrooms and interactive water games are aquatic havens. For the older ones, thrilling water slides, sometimes multi-lane or with bends, guarantee an adrenaline rush.
Hurtling down a giant slide or testing the new water slides with club friends is often the most memorable moment of the summer holidays.
While the mini-club delights the little ones, teenagers have very different expectations. This is why modern campsites incorporate a dedicated teen club, generally for 13-17 year olds. The approach is much less directive. A specialised activity leader adopts more of a "big brother" or companion posture to offer suitable activities without ever imposing anything. It is the ideal place to create strong social bonds between young people of the same age.
Campsites with a teen club offer programmes combining relaxation and activities. This can range from video creation, DJ workshops, to beach campfire evenings, video game tournaments or supervised paddle outings.
The goal is to offer them a space for free expression where they can live their holiday at their own pace. Knowing that the campsite meets the needs of their teenager, parents can fully choose a campsite knowing that the whole family will be happy there.
The geographical location of your accommodation greatly influences the club programme.
One of parents' greatest concerns is safety. Outdoor hospitality managers have understood this well. This is why the qualified activity leaders who supervise the youngsters hold recognised qualifications (BAFA, first aid certificates, etc.). Entrusting your children to these teams is the assurance that they are developing in complete safety within delimited and controlled spaces within the campsite.
The activity leaders are trained to manage group dynamics, spot shyer children and integrate them gently, and ensure that safety rules (particularly around the swimming pool) are strictly followed.
Their professionalism is such that you can relax completely, knowing where your children are having fun. These passionate activity leaders are the true artisans of your holiday's success, deploying limitless energy throughout the entire week.
The magic of a stay is often created by the major events organised by the animation team. The fun world unfolds through giant treasure hunts that mobilise the entire site, transforming the campsite into a vast pirate adventure ground or space exploration terrain. These immersive activities capture children's imaginations and keep them on the edge of their seats for hours.
The highlight of the show generally takes place at the end of the week. The preparation of mini-shows is a key stage. The children present choreographies, theatre sketches or circus acts that they have rehearsed diligently. This moment, when they take to the stage in front of their moved parents, is priceless.
An establishment that offers a children's club for the greatest number and that values your children for the greatest happiness of the family is the guarantee of a successful stay.
If you are convinced, the next step is to book wisely. When you go on holiday, particularly during peak season such as July-August, planning ahead is essential. Establishments offering superb youth facilities are snapped up months in advance. Make sure the club is open during the dates of your stay (some clubs only operate during the summer school holidays).
Also check the accepted age groups. Most clubs welcome children aged 4 to 12, but some offer nurseries for the youngest or clubs dedicated to pre-teens. Furthermore, some campsites also offer paid evening childcare (babysitting) to allow parents to dine alone. Reading the detailed brochure of activities on offer carefully will prevent any disappointment once you arrive.
Outside club opening hours, children need spaces to continue having fun. This is where the freely accessible facilities come in. Modern play areas, with their immense climbing structures, swings and rope spider webs, are children's favourite meeting points. They are often located near the bar or restaurant, allowing parents to keep an eye on them while enjoying a drink.
The multi-sport court (or "city stadium") is the beating heart of the campsite at the end of the day. This is where friendships made at the club continue. Beyond the swimming pools, these facilities are crucial. Activities centred on spontaneous sport are very formative.
Between diving into the swimming pool, sliding down the water slides, and impromptu football matches, the days during your holiday are well filled. Camping holidays today are definitively the promise of a shared joy of living, from the very first to the very last minute of your stay.
1. Peace of mind: parents enjoy genuine moments of relaxation by entrusting their little ones to qualified professionals in complete safety.
2. Diversity of activities: from sport to creativity, including sports games and environmental discoveries, the offer is plentiful.
3. Premium facilities: the water park with its swimming pool and water slide is the indispensable complement to the happiness of the young.
4. Age-specific clubs: dedicated spaces exist, from the mini-club for early development to the teen club for independence and social connections.
5. Guaranteed memories: summer friendships, end-of-week shows and large-scale night games forge unforgettable memories.
Access to children's clubs is completely free and included in the price of your camping holiday. It is a service included in the offerings of 4 and 5-star campsites. However, certain very specific craft activities or external outings (such as horse riding) may require a financial contribution.
Generally, clubs welcome children from the age of 4, provided they are toilet-trained (no nappies). For the youngest ones (under 4), some very high-end establishments offer "baby clubs" or specific nurseries, often with a price supplement and mandatory advance booking.
Absolutely not. Enrolment at the campsite children's club is done à la carte (half-day, full day, or for a specific activity). That is the absolute flexibility of summer holidays! Your child goes whenever they feel like it, based on the programme of activities on offer posted each week.
To avoid frustrating anyone, the teams of qualified activity leaders are often multilingual (French, English, Dutch, German) in order to facilitate the integration of all children during sports games and treasure hunts.
While the passionate activity leaders look after the children during specific aquatic club activities, the general supervision of the water park and water slides is provided by qualified lifeguards (BNSSA or equivalent), ensuring the complete safety of swimmers during opening hours.
Unexpected weather is anticipated. If outdoor games are impossible, the teams bring the groups together in large covered animation rooms. The programme then switches to indoor fun activities: preparing mini-shows, giant board games, cinema, or creative workshops, ensuring guaranteed laughter even on grey days.
